Quotation as the first line of a paper Schoolmarm 02/07/06
    Hi, Rich.

I hope you can help me here. A co-worker just asked me what the device is called when you use a quotation to open an initial paragraph in a work (term paper, essay, etc). I know there's a technical term for it, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is. Nor can anyone else on the faculty.

    Any suggestions?

    JMF
