wireless network paultech 03/07/04
    well
machine 1. is running xp pro with an netgear wireless router, connected to a DSL/cable 512k modem

machine 2. is next door at in a different house as the crow flys the distance between the machine is about 70-80 feet away both machine are near windows.

so i plan to point both 175mm aerials in at each other throw the windows.Q.1 ( would those aerials be strong enough) since the machines will be be near the windows i am planning on use netgear wireless cable, which will run about 10 feet..
    eg..
Modem-->Wireless router--->10feet of wireless networkcable--->aerial, basically attached the the window ledge

then on the other side widow ledge -->10 feet of cable-->pc

Q2. would i best moving the pcs even closer the windows or would i sort of lose any signal strength from using 20feet of cabling?

please if you are replying dont suggest using rj45 cat5 since i cant be bothered drilling holes in the walls or window ledges.

any good answers will get a 5. please answer the quesiton and not just direct me to a url.
