Webpage width control luhayes 06/13/05
I'm designing a website on a monitor set to 800x600 screen resolution, then checking the results on my laptop - which has a 1024x768 screen.

On pages that are primarily text, and look fine on the 800 pixel width, the wide screen makes lines of text so long they become difficult to read.

What is the easiest way to control the maximum width at which a browser will display a page? I obviously don't want to set the width to 800 px, because then the person with a 640x480 screen will get a mess. But I do want to restrict the width to an 800 px maximum - so the folks with wide screens will see pretty much what I see on mine.
