i have a friend who asked for my help and i was able to help her to an extent but something i can't figure out.

She has Verizon DSL internet. All worked ok until the other day. She usually logs onto the internet by clicking on the 'Verizon DSL with MSN' icon on her screen. (Picture of a butterfly aka MSN logo) Now when she tries to log on it attempts to dial several times then a msg appears and says: ".NET could not verify your information"
Well she logs on through this icon and .NET password box. I tried doing through the menu options of the Verizon DSL with MSN and same thing. Verizon told her to call Microsoft for help. But I disagree, cause I clicked on a different shortcut called (shortcut to Verizon online) and the (IE shortcut) to open IE and was able to get online fine, but not to her Verizon home page. So I don't think it is IE. She needed to get to her Verizon email, so i went to Verizon Home and clicked on login, it asked for her user and password, after typing it, it asked to reenter the passwork again, then again. She checked with Verizon and the userid and password was ok, and they said that they could not help her.

I would like to know why the regular login program stopped working, but the Verizon shortcut did work to get online, but not to her home Verizon page?

I think, she should reinstall the Verizon software, in my opinion. What do you think?
And why would one login program work and the other from the same cd not recongize trhe password?
