Inexpensive DC lodging question jpollardsmith 11/15/03
    Hi,

    I am planning a cross-USA roadtrip and I will pass thru Washington DC along my route.

    I'm also making this trip on the cheap, so I don't have a lot of money to spend at expensive DC hotels. I only want to spend about $35/night.

    I was thinking that maybe I could find a $35/night hotel/motel remote from the Mall/Capital/White House
    but connected to the Metro subway system.

    I was wondering if you could recommend a neighborhood (or better yet, a hotel/motel) that would be safe, <$35/nite, and connected to the Metro?

    I don't know the area so I couldn't choose one neighborhood over another.
