Oldest Existing Government Ccl471 06/29/04
I read somewhere that the U.S. Constitution is the oldest national founding document still in effect today.

Does that mean that the U.S. Government is the oldest one still in power, without having been overthrown and replaced by another system of government, among all the governments in the world currently in power?

    Many thanks,

    C.L.
