Bearing and Azimuth ffroztt 12/15/05
    I would like to know how to get the bearing and azimuth given the x,y,z angles of an object. I've tryed something like this...

    r = squareroot(x^2 + y^2 + z^2)
    azimuth = arctan(x/y)
    bearing = sin(z/r)

    (actually I'm not 100% sure that's the equation I was trying before, but it was something much like that.) I can double check when I get home. Anyway it is not working for me.

    Any assistance is much appreciated.

    Chad
