Extra Credit AhmadBalkhi 10/22/05
I need your help since I am a new teacher. I am planning to bring up some extracredit projects. I do not, however, know how can I grade extra credit points. Do I need to count those points and add them to their missing homeworks or exams? Majority of my students do their homeworks, so adding extracredit points to their homework is not much helpful. However, many of them scored low on the last test as a result of mistateks they made. Can I add extracredit points to their last exam score? If so, then, do you think it would be fair to those who got really high scores? I am not sure, but if I let the maximum number of extracredit points = 1/2 of number of points they missed, then, its alittle bit more fair. Please let me know what you do to add extracredit into your students' grade. I need your strategy, idea and feedback on this.

    Thank you for your time.
