Do you know of any tax software that can help a foreigner who is not proficient in English file their taxes?
I'm looking for a program that allows the user to do their taxes in a foreign language(specifically Chinese), and then allows them to print out the completed tax form in English for submission to the IRS.
I would like to purchase such a program, if it exists, for my dad, who doesn't know much English and has a tremendous amount of difficulty filing his taxes every year.
If such a program does not exist, then I'd like to ask this: I understand that the IRS offers foreign language tax-filing assistance at their local offices. How much help can one get in filing their taxes through this service? Can my dad go in to his local tax office and have someone go with him through the entire filing process, interpreting for him each item on the tax form?
I just called our local IRS office today, but I got a prerecorded message saying I should leave a message with them to schedule an appointment for a service. I wasn't able to ask someone my question there.
