Private & business mileage -how do you differentiate? bridgeth 04/05/05
I work for a company with over 100 community staff. We provide company cars or car allowance. Previously we have always said that the first & last half hour and/or 10 miles is counted as personal mileage. The employees do not come into a designated office every day, but they are affiliated with 1 of 16 offices. Can you recommend any guidelines as I want to write a formal policy. I have tried the Inland Revenue, but the rules seem very grey.
