Blisters/Callouses curiousz 02/02/03
Hello. I am building some callouses that are resulting from blisters while playing a lot of golf... now I know I have to build them up for the future since I will be playing A LOT these days... I have even been using tape at times because it can hurt. Anyways, what is the best way top build them up? Any specific time frame, i.e., rest a day or 2 or 3 days in a row, or what about treatment... does soaking them in warm water for some time or salt water, etc... I am looking for anything that may help my progress because I really do not have time to rest too long and I need to be able to play without all the annoyances on my skin. Any suggestions would help as long as they are proven, thanks.

Ok, thanks for the answer, but let me clarify a bit... first, all these blisters are on my fingers, I meant them all in my hands, not my feet! Sorry about that... also, I want to make sure that you understand I do not want my skin to go back to its original soft form, but I want it to stay hard and for the callous to remain to protect against future pain and discomforts, much like weightlifters and tennis players have. So does all your advice still stand?

Thanks Bal, but I dont think you got my question exactly. I am, not looking for golf tips, or how to take care of a blister or anything. I basically want to know how to BUILD UP blisters or callouses most effectively in order not to have painful ones in the future. I.e., if you have soft skin, and you do some heavy activity for a long time, you will get nasty blisters, right? But you dont see professional athletes getting blisters all the time, only once in a while by chance or circumstance. So I am asking, how do I get my skin in to that tough shape as quickly as possible with the least pain possible, and with the least total downtime? Thanks...
