| Scars and Bioptron Light |

Hello Breakfree,
I came upon this site about six months ago and read some advice you gave to one person who wanted to know how to remove scars from the skin.
You wrote "Scars are a legacy of cell damage and will be with you forever unless you change the cellular memory. You can do this with various forms of laser treatment but Linear Polarised Light is the only medically proven way to change cell memory."
Because of this advice, I bought a Bioptron Polarized light unit and began giving myself treatments- everyother day for 4-6 minutes.
It has been about 5 months of continuous usage and there has not been even a slight change to any of the scars, even the smallest (some barely noticeable) of my scars. They are exactly as they were when I began to give myself treatments.
I then wrote to a Bioptron practitioner in New Zealand and told them about what you had written. He responded and stated that the Bioptron does not change cellular memory and he had never even heard of such a thing. He told me that the Bioptron can help REDUCE scarring when it is used while the wound is still healing, but will have little to no effect on existing scars or scar tissue.
Can you please explain why this has not changed the cellular memory of my skin, if it is supposed to do so. I guess scars really are permanent, like everyone else says?

Thank you very much for your comprehensive response.
I am 25 years old and the scars are on my face and the oldest is 5 years old.
The scars are atrophic (recessed scars).
I have been using the Bioptron religiously and have received no response.
I have had fatigue, skin problems, and other vague symptoms for about 3 years now and just recently (since I first posted) received test results back that confirm that I have Lyme Disease (a tick born disease that disrupts thyroid function, immune response, etc).
I am hoping that this is a large reason why my skin has not benefitted from the Bioptron Light.
Do you believe that once my body is brought back into balance, and I continue to use the light, that my scars can be removed completely (or close to it). I am still young and was in great health until I contracted this illness.
