I am a runner. About 3 months ago, while running, at the 1.5 mile mark, I felt a gradual tightness behind my right thigh (in the area of the hamstring). At the end of the 2 mile run, it didn't hurt, but it felt tight, so I would stretch it out. After 3-4 more runs, after 1.5 mile mark, the tightness turned to pain, so I stopped running. I saw a physical therapist, who gave me some hamstring and hip stretches to do. After 1 month, the pain lessened, but was still present. Then another Dr. gave me some anti-inflamatories, but that doesn't seem to be working. After 3 months, if I walk slowly for 15-20 minutes, the tightness still returns. Sometimes I even feel some tenderness when I'm still. It feels like I have to stretch the hamstring, but stretching doesn't seem to help it. Has anyone had these symptoms before? Could you help me out with what's wrong and what to do about it? Thanks. |
