Back when I was a boy, i attended a computer camp. Geeky, I know. The year was 1981 or so and I went for a week to Moodus CT for work on a bunch of TRS-80's (model I's). I had a great time. I recall, while there, we worked on a program which subtracted a series of numbers one from the next (column A from column B?) and the goal was to make the longest chain of something before you get to 0. I don't know the details but I recall that the program was called Diffy. I can't find anything about a program like that and the word "Diffy" seems to refer either to a kids' TV show character or differential equations. And I don't even know what those are.
Does anyone have any familiarity with a simple BASIC program like that? Or do you know someone named "David Rogers"? He shared a bunk with me back then, but I haven't spoken to him since. And BTW, if you have time on your hands, pick up the October 1981 issue of Life magazine (with Marilyn Monroe on the cover) and look for the pictures. I'm the cute Jew in the front row. Yes...I need a haircut...I know.
Thanks, Dan |
