REQUEST OF INFORMATION ABOUT HOW OBTAINING A SSN
cucciolone 03/21/04
I'm a non-u.s. resident Italian man having a U.S. postal address in the United States and my true problem is opening a checking account in the U.S. or subscribe to most of U.S. credit cards for the fact that unfortunately i dont have a social security number
that is required by U.S. banks. I was released an INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYER ID NUMBER for this purpose, but unfortunately it is not accepted for identification!
I would be grateful to you if you would let me know if have a minimum chance to obtain a SSN legally, for example working for some American company that offers work at home also to foreigners residing phisically outside U.S.A. or other non-work reasons.
Please,be so kind to let me know if i could be somehow eligible for a SSN in my case. It seems almost impossible to have one! What do you suggest me?

    thank you
    Giuliano
