USB memory stick security software pete4187 06/06/06
    I'm looking for software (shareware, or even better, freeware) that I can use to lock a USB memory stick. It cannot be for any specific brand of memory stick.

      I mean a program which will lock the USB from being opened at all without a password, or a program which will "hide" folders/files unless the user inputs a password.

      The WinZip idea has some merit, though.

      well why not just unplug it then, and take it will u. if you want the info to be totally secure.

      Because occasionally people lose USB sticks. Or leave them plugged in. Or drop them. Or the lanyard breaks. Or they're stolen. Or they're left on desks.
