Hi,
I purchased my first computer recently, a Dell desktop that has a three month free trial subscription to McAfee AntiVirus and Firewall software.
I'm not sure about what to do about computer security after the three months end. McAfee offers a yearly subscription to security software for $35/year. I think Norton software is similarly priced.
I was wondering how the average computer person manages security on their computer. I asked one technician at Dell technical support what most people do about this. "Do they just pay their $35/yr and forget about security thereafter?" and he said, "Yes."
Would you agree with him, or is security freeware comparable and worthy of exploring?
Thanks,
John |
