May be off base in this board, but i have to try:
I have a unique (At least in my experience) problem.
A client approached me and asked that I take a quantity of MS Word documents that they have with product descriptions on them and convert the data in to a tabular format.
They sell automotive parts, and the Word documents have the make, model, year, color, volts, amps, size, dimensions, weight, special notes, cost, etc listed in a basic Word document.
They would like to have the information changed to a spreadsheet format so that their web designer can import the data into SQL, Access or other data base for their website that they are rolling out.
Not all of the information on each sheet is the same. Some of it is missing certain items, i.e.: color is not included on the alternators, while it is on the mirrors; and the year is not included on the pin stripping, but is on the fender.
They do not wish to have the inventory done via this method, just the information sheet that they provide with each sale.
I have been racking my brain trying to find a method to best convert this data and make it so without dedicating all of my peoples time to the project.
Is there a simple method or utility program that I can find that will allow this to be done? Obviously, I would, as my people would also, review and correct any errors, it is just reducing the amount of keying work that the job entails.
