| Please Help! Tying to find these short stories... |

I have been searching for these 2 short stories for YEARS and every now and then the search turns into a kind of obsession... this is one of those times...
The first is told from the point of view of a future-soldier who, in the middle of a battle with some alien soldiers is surprised to notice that their blood is red, too. I would've sworn that the title was something like "All God's Children Got Hemoglobin," but that hasn't gotten me anywhere.
The second, I don't remember the title, the author, or when I read it, but the images are extremely vivid. A man walks past a building that he's never noticed before, and finds himself transported somewhere alien where he is forced to perform all these trials (crawl thru a giant acidic hive, run across a vast field into a wall, pass thru a machine that takes samples from his body, the last roughly the size of his head). In the end he is greatly changed physically, is made to touch this other weird creature, informed that he has been part of an experiment to alter his DNA to be used for some other purpose, and told that he can return home, but has to go the way he came... oh! and I am almost sure that it was written in the second-person POV...
