| how to enscrypt a router programme |

hello everybody
i have just installed ( and it took me ages) the router modem 'sitecom'. it is working fine, but i still have two problems to sort out:
1. when i installed it i chose a 'broadband connection taht is always on'by mistake. I would like to chose when to switch on my internet connection, but i don't know how to change the settings
2. i followed the installation instructions which recommended to set privacy encryption after connecting to the internet. I don't know how to set encryption now, but i don't want to leave my connection open for everyone who might use it, except for the other computer in the house.
i'd be grateful if you could help
