Sounds good. i have had a little trouble creating a function resume that works for me. The problem i have is several job changes and some gaps in employment. But, i do have some good experience related to my career objecttive. And i want to list my experience in each job because i feel the experience is important.
- Can i list jobs with related experience to the job i am applying for even though they have different years of employment?
Can i leave out the dates?
Example:
Help Desk Cordinator - 1/99 to 1/00
Customer Service - 3/00 to 6/01
Tech Support Rep 8/01 to 2/02
File Clerk - 3/02 to 4/04
Help Desk (Temp) 5/04 to 7/04
See how non related computer jobs exist in my history.
-Do i have to list jobs from most recent and back? Or can I just list related experience w/o dates?

A functional resume should be fairly easy to put together. I'm surprised you are having difficulty.
You stated: "The problem i have is several job changes and some gaps in employment."
CeeBee says: This is why functional resumes work so well, because they make unimportant and de-emphasize job changes and employment gaps.
You stated: "But, i do have some good experience related to my career objecttive."
CeeBee says: Do not use a career objective on your resume. It is better to put that information in the cover letter.
You stated: "And i want to list my experience in each job because i feel the experience is important."
CeeBee says: That is the exact purpose of a functional resume, to feature experience rather than places and dates.
You asked: "Can i list jobs with related experience to the job i am applying for even though they have different years of employment?"
CeeBee says: That is the purpose of a functional resume, to group experience into functions such as Management or Customer Service or Technical or Computers or Programming, etc.
You asked: "Can i leave out the dates?"
CeeBee says: On a functional resume you can leave out the dates but be prepared to discuss at the interview the missing dates and any serious employment gaps.
CeeBee says: Be sure your employment is listed in reverse chronological order, the most recent being first.
Example:
Help Desk Cordinator - 1/99 to 1/00
Customer Service - 3/00 to 6/01
Tech Support Rep 8/01 to 2/02
File Clerk - 3/02 to 4/04
Help Desk (Temp) 5/04 to 7/04
You stated: "See how non related computer jobs exist in my history."
CeeBee says: A functional resume will solve this problem.
You asked: "Do i have to list jobs from most recent and back? Or can I just list related experience w/o dates?"
CeeBee says: If you list jobs with dates, they must be listed as most recent first. In a functional resume the job/date list is less important; it is the function of each job that is important. Job responsibilities are listed under "functions" such as Networking, Software Development, Support, etc. There can also be a separate section that lists your skills and abilities.
