Directory of mortage lenders

I am searching for reputable mortgage lenders.
I perfer not to use banks, because I don't want to have to pay my property taxes separately.
I see a list of mortgage companies in the directory, but they are names I am not familar with.
How do I go about finding a good mortage company.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
