It's free, and I have personal experience with it.
When first start using, it absolutely blocks all signals from and to the computer. Each one will pop up a window, explaining what it is, with the choice of allowing it, or blocking it, or always asking first.
After awhile, it will contain all blocked sites you wish.

I never really thought of a Firewall software. I have been using Zonelabs Zonealarm Firewall for some time now. It's free, and even supports email.

Do you think this will stop the adult sites from loading themselves into Favorites?

I myself have a problem with my home address being changed without knowing. I can't remember if my Firewall was running or not. Will Firewall software stop this too?
