Strange stains on my hands when I wake up. Sprog 11/20/06
I have woken up twice now with rust coloured marks on my hands + forearms there are no marks on the bedclothes
It is most mysterious. I wake up with these stains that eventually fade on my hands and sometimes forearms. The marks look as if they have been smeared, as if I picked something up that was covered in blotches of this staining stuff.

Sleepwalking is not an option as the sheets and pillows would have the stains too, they are clean. Only my hands. No strange feeling, itching or smell is associated with it and it doesn't wash off.

Perhaps something along the lines of Carlos Castaneda's works?

      Clarification/Follow-up by Sprog on 11/23/06 3:44 am:
I think I would know the difference between a skin allergy or myself bleeding and what is happening. Beleive me.
By 'eventually fade' I mean they are stains that do not wash off but will stay for a day or two and then rapidly fade. I tried scratching the skin off over one of the marks and it seemed pretty deep.

I have had the same experience with burn marks and heat blisters.

      And NO they are not:
      1) my sheets/ duvet/ pillow staining my hands,
2)my nose miraculously bleeding on my hands and not my face or anything else
3)As a result of me staining my furniture just before bed and then waking up and going "OMG I'm having a pranormal experience"
4)my partner miraculously bleeding on my hands and nothing else, Same for my cat
      5) The red cooldrink I keep next to my bed
      6) as a result of me setting my bed on fire and it burning my hands while swiftly unburning itself and returning the air and room to normal
