Lifelong Depression TheRiddler 07/20/06
As far back as elementary school, I can remember bouts of sadness and lonliness coming on for no reason. I never told anyone and tried to ignore it. By the time I got to high school I was suicidal and self-mutilating (rare for a male from what I've heard). These days, the bouts of sadness are gone, but have been replaced by a constant state of sadness and I have no lust for life. A big part in this was experiences of social anxiety. I've tried medication, but they haven't worked. I can barely look anybody in the eye and almost never talk to anyone. I'm in college and can't afford to seek medical attention (therapy, etc.).
    Do you have any advice?
