| Memory update from Paul in the UK |

Hello CB
Here's my update: after completing the first 6 lessons of Answerway's course, they were stopped. So I read numerous books on memory improvement from the library, mostly by Harry Lorayne and other American authors, and then bought and did the KEVIN TRUDEAU MEGA MEMORY COURSE. This was ok, but limited. However it is very user friendly and a good course for beginners. I then tried a Harry Lorayne audio course but couldn't stand it - his methods are far too "in your face" and flamboyant for me. Anyway the next thing I tried was easily far and away the best memory course I have ever done, ever, and is:
QUANTUM MEMORY POWER by Dominic O'Brien (both cassette and CD, available in the US by Nightingale Conant, which actually seems to have used O'Brien to replace the Kevin Trudeau courses which they also used to produce).
The reasons why Dominic O'Brien appealed to me in the first place were that he was British and I hoped this would be a change from the American authors, and, most importantly, he was/is the seven times official World Memory Champion. I had also seen him on TV in the UK. Anyway, as I say, I recommend him as being head and shoulders above any other courses. Why? Because he is far more natural and relaxed than any of the others and also simpler. You don't, or at least I didn't, get so bogged down with keywords, etc. And you don't waste time memorising packs of playing cards (there is a card section, but it's near the end of the course).
So if you get a chance, do his QUANTUM MEMORY POWER.
QUESTION: You told me once that as a librarian, you often had people checking out courses from your library...can you remember which ones?
All the best,
Paul. |
