Is this malpractice? Anonymous 09/15/06
I recently went to my doctor and asked to get on birth control. I told them I was unsure about if I was pregnant or not & that I wanted a pregnancy test. To be perfectly honest-I do practice safe sex sometimes, but I AM married, so not always. (I have a 3 month old baby girl.) My doctor would not give me a pregnancy test like I asked before she put me on birth control. Wouldn't this be malpractice? I pushed the issue, but obviously not enough. Seems like any doctor would test for pregnancy before putting someone on birth control...
