LOTS OF MEDICAL PROBLEMS... ashleyrpoole 09/15/06
I AM ONLY 22 YEARS OLD...
ok, I have to have surgery soon because I may have breast cancer. I have nerve problems (but my medication don't work- Klonopin 0.5 mg...any suggestions???)
This is what I don't know...
I have been having these "pass out spells". When this happens, I start feeling light headed, everything starts getting dotty and everything goes black, my body either starts tingling or goes numb. I know to sit down right away or I will fall out. Lately, it has been happening a lot more, only I lose control of my body. I can't make myself move. My arms will shake (more like jerk) The other day this happened and then I was trying to heat something in the microwave. I was trying to press the À" and could not make myself push it. My finger was hitting on top of it, below it, beside it, but I could not push the button. Another time I was carrying medicine in my hands from the bathroom to the living room and I dropped it all because I couldnt make myself hold on to it. This really scares me, because I could be driving and this happen or I could be holding my newborn baby and this happen to me. I am so scared. I dont know what is wrong with me, and my doctor dont listen to me. I have insurance, but if i change doctors i cant see a new doctor for 1 month, with everything going on with me, i cant change doctors right now. The only time I have these spells are when I am standing up. It has never happened to me sitting, driving or holding the baby. I dont know if this helps, but I am not overweight, my blood pressure is good, I eat good. What medical condition is this?
Also...lately I have been having problems sleeping. (not talking about when the baby wakes me up!!!) I wake up and my stomach hurts, like a burning feeling. I toss and turn. Even sometimes throughout the day this happens, but mainly at night time. A really bad burning feeling in my stomach. What is this?
    one more thing...(i know...i'm falling apart!=)
I take baths, usually medium warm, sometimes the joints in my fingers and my fingertips start burning and it lasts a couple hours after I bathe. The water isn't too hot, and I was thinking blood pressure, but I get blood pressure checked frequently and it's always normal. What could this be?

    all answers are appreciated greatly!!

What I mean by "I have to have surgery soon b/c may have breast cancer" is JUST THAT!
Noone knows for sure if the nodules are cancerous or non-cancerous. I have multiple...3 in right, 2 in left. They are saying that the big one I have in the right side could be cancerous. They want to remove this one because it has been rapidly growing. I went to the surgeon yesterday and he ordered me to have a mammagram,(I only had a sonogram) then when I go back to his office he will biopsy the nodules. He wants to remove the big one, I want them all removed and he told me if I was that serious, he will remove them. At 1st he was talking about a masectomy for the right breast, but I said no. One of the nodules is 6 cm & he said usually with one that size, the procedure is not to just remove the lump, it is to remove the whole breast (if it's more than 1/4 size of the breast) I don't want that done, I would rather have a breast than none at all. I told him if all the nodules are removed I can get implants, but if he removes my breast, I can't. They are giving me mixed feelings about the big nodule, but the surgeon did say that if it was cancer, he thinks it would have got the best of me by now because breast cancer is more aggressive in women my age than in older women.
Yes, my Dr. prescribed Klonopin for my nerves, it isn't working because I feel the same and everything is still happening the same. yes, i take it like i am supposed to, 2 times a day. And about my dr... She's quick to write prescriptions, slow to actually hear you out. She isn't interested in helping people, just making money. I spend more time in the waiting room than in her care. I have never been in a room with her for more than 5 minutes. All she does is listen for a minute and say "ok, ok" and write a prescription. She put me on depression medicine and I know I am not depressed. Like I said, I just had a baby 3 months ago, she diagnosed me with post-partum depression. I know exactly what that is...because I DID have it right after I had my baby, but I didn't get help for it, I handled it on my own..it only lasted for a week or so. The medicine she prescribed me would have helped then, but I didn't need it 3 months after the fact. I am not a dr. and i know that. 1 way communication doesn't work. It wouldn't matter who I brought with me, the doctor will not take the time to actually diagnose what is really going on. I spoke with my surgeon yesterday and told him all of this, he told me if my doctor will not listen to me, ask her to refer me to a neurologist because that may be the problem. so monday, that is what I will do. maybe he is right. he said the only other things he can think of is dehydration (which i dont have) and panic attacks...which is a possibility. I am not sure, but hopefully I will find out soon.
      Thank you for your response.

Thank you so very much for elaborating! That helped a lot!!

I am so sorry to hear about all your health problems. Being a new mother at your age should be fun and exciting. Your life doesn't sound very fun or exciting.

Please investigate if fibromyalgia might be a source of many of your symptoms, but be careful not to force your symptoms to fit fibro. Just a bad case of anxiety could also be the cause. If it turns out to be fibro, please please please post a new question, especially if the dr. seems clueless about how to help. There are some new, amazing treatments for fibro. Here are its symptoms:

Pain is the most prominent symptom. It usually involves "tender points" on the body where pain seems the greatest.

Fatigue and sleep disturbances occur in about 90% of people who have fibromyalgia.

Depression and anxiety is common in many people with fibromyalgia.

Cognitive difficulties or fibro fog can occur, characterized by feelings of confusion, lapses in memory, word mix-ups and difficulty concentrating.

Migraine headaches, abdominal pain, bloating or alternating constipation and diarrhea (irritable bowel syndrome), skin color changes, tingling limbs, jaw pain (temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder), and restless leg syndrome are common.
