I have two disks on my machine
one is fully NTFS
one has two partitions, one ntfs with windows and one Linux (redhat 8.0) there are two other computers in the local area network, using win98 and win XP pro.
How do I :
using redhat, access the files saved using windows on my local ntfs drives.
Using windows, access files saved ont the linux part)(if possible)
Using redhat, connect to the other computers in my lan (I already pinged them and it works but now what ?)
I am progressively switching to free software but I still have lots of "old" projects started with MS and Adobe tools which I want to further using free tools.
I still need Windows for specific tasks like Flash design.
thanks

Clarification/Follow-up by pause on 04/09/05 2:40 pm: Both of the access you are talking about are possible. You can "simply" use Samba to do this for you. Samba is a windows sharing tool. You can set it under linux to access and share data with windows operating system explorer. This site seems to be simple to understand on thesubject how to istall samba http://linuxnewbies.editthispage.com/tips/20001122 Hope this helps. With samba, you'll be able to access and share file between all our machine. There is one limitation. You can't share linux partition under windows (windows don't support linux partition). But you can locally access linux directory from windows using the program explore2fs. http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm
Hope all this helps. Tell me if you have any other question or if you need help to configure. pause
