Linux v XP PLUTUS1947 11/21/03
    Hello fellow Experts

I am given to believe that from the beginning of 2004 Microsoft is ceasing its support for Windows 98.

As I am running this OS on my PC, I shall have to start looking for alternatives and Linux has been suggested.

As I know very little about Linux may I ask you a little about Linux.

    a) I have a lot of windows software, games etc, is this compatible with Linux?

    b) Is my 56k modem compatible?

    c) I use a lot of downloaded software, Mailwasher, Incredimail, AVG anti virus program etc, are these compatible?

    d) Can I use POP3, Hotmail, Yahoo email?

    e) Will I need anything special from my ISP?

    f) I use Works, Word, Excel at the moment, I believe this is compatible with Linux, am I right?

I know this is a long list of questions but any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated or indeed anything you may feel of benefit to me.

    Thanks.

    PLUTUS1947
