Taking photos in public places - how illegal is it? yunoping 04/27/04
    I am an amateur photographer.

I often wonder, if I am photographing in a public place and I get stopped in the street by a security guard or a police officer, what can they do to me?

When I was a student it happened a few times, but I had a letter from my university, so they didnt bother me much.

I was never stopped in any place where a no photographing sign was, it was literally in the street. Random.

So i am wondering, what exactly is the law on photographing in public, and what can they do to me if I have no permission to photograph say, a bus station?
