dryer balls sallie00 05/05/07
They have those dryer balls on the TV ads. They are suppose to help your clothes dry faster and thereby cut down some of the electricity cost.

Do you know if that works or anything similar.

    Thanks in advance.

In your opinion, will lifting and separating laundry and allowing hot air to flow more efficiently, make a significant difference in the the amount of electricity used or not?

      Thanks in advance.

Lifting and separating laundry as it spins in the dryer should cut down on drying time and also allow individual pieces of fabric to dry completely. Otherwise, items might cling to each other and wad up together (like blankets or sheets might do), thus preventing complete drying. (And make sure the fabrics are not wadding around a gym shoe or dryer ball, like blankets might do.) Of course, the dryer cannot be overloaded with stuff to be dried; then, nothing will dry well.

Conclusion: A clean gym shoe or a dryer ball probably would help the drying process. I think the electricity cost cuts would be minor.
