ph change smkonwinski1 07/04/07

Don't understand ph changes with .1 A- (buffer with no H+ bound) and .2 HA (buffer with H+ bound)buffers. I see the color changes and ph reductions with all added HCl in quikmovies, but can't find where to see which is most effective in protecting the solution of acetate, hypochlororate, benzoate and chloroacetate when increasing amounts of HCl are added. The indicators are Bromphenol Blue and Methyl Red. Can you explain?
