My question to you is this: Why would you WANT to try and evaluate the quality of a diamond without any instruments? Without a magnifier (jewelers use a "loupe") it simply becomes an exercise in futility, and without a way to accurately determine carat weight, you would likely have only a rough estimate at best, even using other diamonds for comparison.

Well,I jus assumed a person real well versed in recognizing diamonds would look for certain somthings to tell if there are certain faults in it or if it has a good chance of being good... I am not looking for a 100% foolproof way, but I am sure there are some clues no?
