invest in mortgages thunefeld 05/24/06
I am selling my home and will have up to $4 million dollars to invest. Over the years I have held many mortgages, notes and land contracts secured by real estate (probably more than 100 over the past 30 years). All this was in my years in real estate in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I always did well with these instruments secured by real estate, because if the loan to debt ratio is 60% or 70%, I know I’m always going to get paid – sooner or later. Now that I am ready to retire, I’d like to spread my equity out into these same types of instruments because I’ve always been able to get a 10% return, predictably and reliably. My question: I am out of the real estate market. Have been living in SanDiego for 10 years. My contacts to buy these are gone. Can you steer me to a source where I can buy. OR… perhaps and even bigger question… do you have SOLID investments that will yield 10%?
