I am going to be interviewed soon for a librarian's job and I know that one of the questions I shall be asked is: "Having got people into your library, how would you increase usage of the library?"
Can anyone think of any good answers? |

Here is the situation - there is more to it than you would have guessed from my question. I am currently trying to get a job in a local public library as an ordinary library assistant. I failed an interview last month. They sent me a standard form letter saying that I had failed, but they have not yet sent me feedback. When I get the feedback do you think you would be prepared to work with me online so I could maximize my chances next time?
I know there will be another round of recruitment eventually, but probably not for another 12 months. So we've got plenty of time!
Here is my real question though: would you be prepared to give me your personal e mail address so I can e mail you directly? I know it's not the usual done thing on ANSWERWAY but I don't want to have to put all this personal stuff on the ANSWERWAY website.
If the answer is NO, it's ok, I'll understand. However I need all the help I can get and someone who's been doing the job for 25 years would be perfect. I don't have much faith in their "feedback" process. The last one I had from a local authority said, "Dear Mr Murphy, we feel you would benefit from more practice at interview technique..." And that was all the "feedback" I ever got from them! Obviously I already knew that I needed more practice at interviews, but I still don't know how to find out the answers to all the questions they ask you...
Anyway, if you would be prepared to work with me online I would be enormously grateful. However, if it's not possible to give me your e mail I'll understand.
Many thanks for your time and trouble, the answer you have just given has already given me an idea of where I went wrong.
Hoping to hear from you,
