Richard Perle on U.S. Policy Toward Iraq curious98 03/18/05

Ata conference sponsored by the Faes Foundation in Madrid, yesterday, the former chairman of the Pentagon's Defence Policy Board, Mr. Richard Perle, a notorious hawk neocon, as you probably know, always favouring Mr. Bush’s policy in Iraq, surprised everybody –including myself- when he affirmed that:
    Quote:
“the Iraq occupation was a grave mistake.
Ater having defeated H.S. in 21 days of military action (which was a great success) we should have withdrawn the country immediately and told the Iraqi, there you are, your country is now free and if you want to build a democracy we shall help you…”
    Unquote:
Has Mr. Bush finally realized that his policy in Iraq is wrong or is Mr. Perle forsaking Mr. Bush?
    Any comments?
