my claim:
strategic planning does not create rigidity.
My reasons:
Firstly, strategic planning does not create rigidity because flexibility is an indispensable characteristic. Strategic planning is required to build flexibility as a prominent characteristic and keep it during the whole process. Particularly, for building flexibility, strategic planning is required to enhance innovation, adapt to changes to eliminate rigidity. Secondly, rigidity can be eliminated in the implementation process of strategic planning. Strategic planning process enhances flexibility. Flexibility is enhanced by the detailed steps of encouraging internal participation and accepting external suggestion. Thirdly, flexible-minded leader who is required by strategic planning can help to eliminate rigidity. Strategic planning emphasizes that the flexible implementation process should be started from the top. In particular, a flexible-minded leader can understand the flexibility requirements of strategic planning and can implement the process properly. It also leads to the employees will then start to think flexibly as well. |
