Moving more air to end run room for AC Assist DILLIGAS 06/08/05
I have an office in my home that does not get enough air flow from the AC in the summer time.

It is located in Suburban Philadelphia. Single floor rancher with a concrete crawlspace. The office is the farthest from the AC that is located in the center of the home. The office is situated next to the garage on onside, a 26 foot non-insulated wall and an exterior wall with minimal insulation. ((It was previously a three car garage that the prior owners converted to an office space.) There is a door leading to the garage, and one to the outside. The room has two windows on the north facing exposure, that seem to suck up heat this time of the year.

It has a single 8 inch round duct supplying both the heat and air, both are forced air. The duct is on the wall, 6 inches off the floor. There is presently no return in the room or other entry/exit for airflow other then the windows or doors.

The AC is a 6.5 ton, 12 SEER unit.

I was wondering what I can do to help draw more air from the system in this room. The room is 10w x 28l x 10.h = 2800 ft3.

Would it be practical to install a fan in the orifice of the duct work to move more air in, or do I have to wire the unit so that it is only on when the system is moving air, and place it at the terminus of the run?
