| The difference between SAY and TELL |
denberg |
04/13/08 |
I have a friend from Latvia who is learning English. She consistently makes one mistake: she says, "Say me about xyz" instead of, "Tell me..."
"Say" and "Tell" have the same definitions in the dictionary, so how can I explain to her what the difference is? Any easy rules I can give her?
Many thanks,
Paul, London UK. |
