Hello, all. I'm looking for a bit of advice. I am currently a rising sophomore in college. I went into college with the intention of majoring in film, but after working at a drama camp this summer I have decided to switch to Theatre Arts Education. What I would like to do eventually, however, is pursue a Masters in Film History/Theory and find work as a film historian or consultant, working with the classic film industry, etc. My question is - how important is an undergraduate degree to your graduate studies? Would it be fine for me to continue with Theatre Arts Education and then go get my Masters in some form of cinema studies, or should I just abandon that plan altogether and study film at the undergraduate level? Also, does anyone know what kind of jobs are out there for someone interested in film history? I am interested to know.
Thanks, Ashley |
