education tyring to get best of it simon 05/24/03
Now I understand the difference between a 2 year community college and a 4 year university. BUT will a 4 year Good, Accredited, university take me on? I had left my studies at the age of 16 in the 10th grade. Then only last year I finished high school through correspondence school (High School USA).

Now I am 28 and would like to study something in pathology - medicine or biology. What are my chances. What should my plan be to get the best possible education. Will it be possible to go to work in the mornings and study in the evenings?

After 4 years what kind of career choices will I have?

Do good, creditable, accredited universities take students with my type of educational background?

Will it not be embarrassing for a 30 year old to do bachelors with teenagers?

Since I have not studied since the last many years, will it be difficult to cope with the fast paced curriculum?

Where do I go to learn before hand any pre college university classes in maths or biology?

    Can this be done online?

What universities are best to go to curriculum wise for something in forensic science?

Can someone help me understand all of the above so I can make the best possible decision for my future keeping in mind, my financial situation and trying to get the best education possible and then may be a good job somewhere.

    Thanks

      our educational system is BASICALLY
      divided up thusly:

      primary school, grades 1-6
      jr high 7-8
      high school 9-12

      community college 13-14
      state college 13-16
[the first two years are called
lower division, the last two years
upper division, all the classes are
      called UNDERGRADUATE CLASSES
HERE and at the community college]

      graduate school 17+

      law school is 17-20
      MBA is 17-18
      medical school can stretch
      out to 17-25
      based on focus

all CREDITS earned at a commuity college
      are transferable to a university
      or state college but sometimes,
      only as elective units.

U need 60 for an AA
      [short for associates degree]
u need 120-136 [dif colleges, dif rules]
      for a bachelor's degree

and again, 60 to 250 MORE for a graduate degree.
