I am trying to stain hard maple chairs, already stripped and sanded down to almost white. I need to make them dark walnut, does anyone have any suggestions besides aniline dyes? I prefer an oil stain and have tried both minwax and Zar but neither will penetrate to a deep brown. Thanks for the help. bethcoon
