Why parents allow their little boys to urinate in public? Anonymous 05/21/05
Is there a reason why parents allow their little boys to unzip their pants and pee in public while their little girls have to hold it until they can get to the toilet?

Is this a biological issue? Do little boys not have the ability to hold it like little girls? Or is this an upbringing issue? Are little boys being taught different rules from little girls?

When I see the parents allowing their little boys to do this, they always have a look of embarassment but it doesn't seem to stop them. Last week, I just saw this happening, but I can't remember where it was but the little boy was being told to pee on the tire of their auto. I think it's also a lazy way to raise boys. Makes me wonder what else males are taught that is ok. Makes me wonder if the next thing they'll do is become public flashers.

I have never lived out in the woods. I have always lived in normal housing tracks with regular development grocery stores, gas stations, shopping centers, schools, malls, etc. So when I see this it is always in a very public place where the little boys are allowed to pee against a tree or an automobiles tire like dogs do.

Around here there are public bathrooms all over the place. Every gas station, grocery store, Wal*Mart, K-Mart, drug store, library, park, and even schools and churches have public bathrooms or allow their staff bathrooms to be used in an emergency. (When I was pregnant, I knew where they all were.) I have even seen boys use a construction-site john.

It does sound like a lazy way to parent a son. Will that boy still be urinating in public when he is a teenager? when he is an adult? I'm not sure I agree about eventual flashing, but a boy allowed to relieve himself in public certainly isn't being taught to honor his body, maintain his privacy, and, along the way, respect other people.

      Hello CeeBee

I agree with you that there is no excuse for this behaviour when there are bathrooms everywhere. And the parents do look around to see if anyone is watching and when they see me, they do wonder whether or not they are going to be judged so they know they shouldn't be teaching their kid to pee in public.

I wonder what else the parents are teaching their kids when they think no one is watching.

As I wrote to BishopChuck, I live in well populated and well deveoped areas with plenty of bathrooms.

Thanks for answering and have a nice day.

I have been in many places where no stores will allow you to use thier bathrooms
      * they claim they don't have any
Guess they close and thier clerks go next door.
Even gas stations and other stores don't let you use.

And then there are public ones that you get your shoes dirty to use.

I had that issue in one store, they said they did not have one, I asked them what isle would they prefer me to use.

But alot of it for those that were in the military, at least in the years I was,

Soldiers in basic had to use very public bathrooms. You sat on the pot in an open room with all of the other soldiers showing and shaving all in the open.

Then outside, it was the outside that you used.

Also for those in the country often the outside was the bathroom.

      bal,

Next time a female complaints about this being a man's world, she better remember what she did to contribute to it by the way she has brought up her own sons including not teaching them to hold their urine the way they teach their daughters.

      Thanks Bal,
      Have a nice day.
