Per Capita GDP & Average Salary in U.S. Ccl471 10/29/04
Is the nation's per capita GDP the average salary of all workers in the country? If it is, then all I have to do to find out the average salary here in the U.S. is to look up the per capita GDP in the CIA World Factbook.

If the per capita GDP is not the average salary of all workers in the nation, then how much is the current average salary here in the U.S.?

    Many thanks,

    C.L.

      Dear Captainoutrageous:

Thanks for your response, but what I was asking was whether a nation's PER CAPITA GDP was a measure of the average income of all the nation's workers. I didn't ask what the nation's overall GDP was.

I thought my answer indicated that GDP is NOT a way to come up with the average income of a country's workers. I passed along some sites that might help you obtain that information. Sorry, I wasn't clearer in my response.
