Hi experts, I spent Christmas visiting relatives in the Smoky Mountians; don't know elevation, but it is in the area of Walland Tennesee. I was walking on a trail early Christmas morning (20 degrees according to thermometer) and noticed what I thought were scraps of fiberglass insulation material around the base of weeds in the shade side of a mountain base. Upon closer examination, I saw that they were actually ice formations, very hairlike and silky looking, seeming to emmanate from the earth surrounding the weed roots. I have digital pictures of these things, but I bet someone knows what they are...please tell me! d3 |
