| Question regarding scars |

My 4 year old daughter got scratched on her cheekbone by another child three months ago and the mark is still very visible. According to her dermatologist the area has healed but it has left a mark. My daughter is very fair so it is very obvious. The dermatologist thinks that the the redness will go away eventually. But he didnt say how long it would take. How long do these things generally take to fade? Is it possible that it will shrink in time? There was never a scab nor any bleeding. It is not raised, if anything it is a very slight bit depressed. I dont understand why it is still there and I really hope my daughter wont have this visible scar forever. Its location on the cheek also makes it very obvious. I am very upset by this and appreciate any advice/help. Thanks! |
