staph lingering sKiTzo 02/01/05
I had a knee scratch a few months ago that turned into a painful swelling. I self diagnosed it as a staphylococcal infection and took erythromycin and it promptly went away. Ever since then I've been getting mild sinus infection or flu-like symptoms (mild nausea and headache) off and on and I'm wondering if there is a connection and if I should maybe do a round of cephalexin just to make sure. Do staph infections possess such "lingering" characteristics? Wouldn't there be swelling if I still had the infection?
