| Herpes Simplex I (cold sores) |

Hi.....I'm an 18 year old girl who was just diagnosed with cold sores (not sure where i got them, there was no oral-sexual contact within the primary infection time) and would really like advice from someone who has dealt with this problem. I know all the facts, but want reality.
I have been told that when I perform oral sex on a guy I should put a condom on him in case i transmit the disease (even if no sores are apparent). However, according to this principle, could I not transfer it to him by simply kssing him, and he could transfer it to me via oral sex? Also, say I do perform oral sex without a condom, then I would have to always use condoms during intercourse for fear of gential transmission? Even if I was married, because gential herpes can be dangerous to an infant....but then would not be able to conceive due to condoms! Please help, just tell me how you have dealt with the condition? ANything would be appreciated! |
