Recovery of permanently deleleted files potential 03/19/04
    hullo,
    i accidently deleted, the files in my yahoo messenger archive and these files are supposed to be on my system which i can view as messages in the messenger window. is there any way i would be able to recover them. these messages were too precious and its really got me upset.

      Clarification/Follow-up by ScottGem on 03/21/04 1:29 am:
      There are tools that will unerase files even after purging from the recycle bin. A lot depends on how recently the file was deleted as to its recoverability.

      Frankly, I have no need for Norton or any such utility. I'm careful what I delete, even more careful what I purge fromt he recycle bin and backup my files daily.
